Dear Readers!
The approaching end of the year is a good time for reflections. This year has been a difficult one and full of various turbulences for the Association, which influenced our organisational, educational and editorial activities. This year had also brighter sides, since due to the Jubilee of the 75 years of our Association the year will end by the XXXI-st General Convention of Delegates, during which the new authorities will be elected for the future years. The Polish Foundrymen’s Technical Association was founded in the final years of the interwar period, owing to the great enthusiasm of a small group of people who wanted to create the organisation integrating the Polish foundry men. This was a very important activity for the Polish economy, since the intellectual and material contribution of foundry men in the development of machine building industry, everyday items and artistic castings, which are keeping us company. It is difficult to imagine functioning of the modern society and country without such items. Currently, we are slowly rebuilding the former basic structures and more and more often opening new ones. The consciousness of the need of the community integration, as an important factor in the activity of each company is on the rise. I hope that next years will be auspicious for our colleagues, regardless of the expected worldwide crisis. Foundry men constitute a strong society, which for sure will be successful even in difficult times. I would like to thank all Colleagues for the immense efforts to conduct operations for our Association and to assure its international recognition and among the Polish engineering associations, several enterprises and scientific - research units as well as among not numerous, but important, central offices. 75 years passed away as one day, leaving the accumulated experience allowing to look ahead with an optimism. I wish all of you to be doing well in the successive years, both in the private and professional life. Please, remain faithful to ideas, which were at the bases of the creation of our Association and its 75 years of activity.
